Bulwark Project Foundation Launches Philanthropic Development Office in Historic Ceremony
The Bulwark Project Foundation Inc., registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in August 2024, marked a significant milestone on 27 June 2025 with the formal launch of its Philanthropic Development Office (PDO) under the auspices of Spring Rain Global. The event, held at Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC), celebrated the foundation’s mission to cultivate “living bulwarks” of faith and service in communities.
The day commenced with a Holy Mass at 2:00 PM, presided over by His Excellency Bishop George Rimando, D.D., Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Davao, who emphasized the spiritual foundation of Bulwark’s mission. Guests then enjoyed pica pica snacks before the program began, ably hosted by the bubbly and engaging couple Cheryl and Joseph Nichols Magdaherin. Their lively rapport and seamless coordination set the tone for the afternoon’s proceedings, which opened with a Welcome Address by Dr. Ma. Iris Melliza, President of the Board of Trustees.
Dennis Villegas, CEO/founder, followed with an introduction to Bulwark’s vision and a heartfelt tribute to its dedicated volunteers. The event’s highlights included:
- Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signings: Formalizing partnerships with Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC), the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP), and the Philippine National Police (PNP).
- Inspiring Testimonials: A youth participant from the Flickers Formation Program shared transformative experiences, while a Grade 3 student moved the audience with reflections on the impact of Bulwark’s film, A Thousand Forests.
- Theme Song Premiere: The uplifting Bulwark Theme Song, composed by Irish Arlene Perez Cabaluna, debuted to applause, encapsulating the foundation’s spirit.
Spring Rain Global CEO Dr. Glenda Miro Antonio concluded the program with words of praise, urging attendees to support Bulwark’s mission to “build resilient communities anchored in faith and service.” The entire launch culminated in a sumptuous dinner and fellowship, where volunteers, partners, and guests celebrated the milestone with warmth and camaraderie.
The launching stands as a testament to the Lord’s work through Bulwark and its divine mandate to empower individuals as “living bulwarks” against societal challenges.
